BalticPly birch veneer quality standards.Grade A: The entire veneer surface has good flatness, no color difference, no cracks and no processing defects. The diameter of the knot is not bigger than 3mm, and the moisture content does not exceed 8% Grade B: The entire veneer surface has good flatness, no color difference and no unclosed cracks. The diameter of the knots is not bigger than 30mm, the diameter of dead knots is not greater than 3mm, and the moisture content does not exceed 8%. Grade C: The whole veneer surface is allowed to have color difference, no limit on the number of dead knots, the length of cracks should not be greater than 300mm, the diameter of dead knots should not be greater than 50mm, and the moisture content should not exceed 8%. Grade D: The whole veneer surface is allowed to have color difference, no limit on the number of dead knots, the length of cracks should not be greater than 500mm, the diameter of dead knots should not be bigger than 70mm, the length of inverted bark should not be greater than 400mm, and the moisture content should not exceed 8%. ABC Mix: Grade A and B shall not be less than 30%, and Grade C shall not be greater than 70%. |
